This FAQ describes how to create a SIP Proxy on 2N® OfficeRoute UMTS Gateway, and also how to register 2N® Helios IP Mobile v4 app with this Proxy. This FAQ was made for FW version 2.3.23 for 2N® OfficeRoute and 1.6.7 for 2N® IndoorTouch with 2N® Helios IP Mobile application version v4. The FAQ is divided into two parts, the first part describes how to create SIP Proxy on 2N® OfficeRoute and how to create terminal for this Proxy. The second part explains how to configure Proxy settings in 2N® Helios IP Mobile v4 to register the application with SIP Proxy created in first part. So output of this FAQ should be a successfully created user for 2N® OfficeRoute and 2N®Helios IP Mobile application v4 registered with Proxy of this gateway.

1. Configuration of 2N® OfficeRoute UMTS Gateway

  1. SIP Proxy is already created and enabled in default. So there is no need to create it. You can see already created SIP Proxy in the picture below. If you want to call through outside carriers, you have to dial prefix 0.

  2. Because the SIP Proxy is active in default, you only have to create an user (terminal). Users are created in section User management->Users by clicking on icon in left down corner. See the picture below.

  3. On the page for adding a new user you are not only creating a new sip terminal but also an user for the gateway itself. You can choose either a normal user or administrator. For administrator you also can define rights which allow this user to change different parameters. For configuration of terminal only you just have to fill User name, Password and Line Terminal. For our example we chose 708, fill this number for all mentioned parameters. After you fill all parameters, save the user by clicking on icon in left down corner.

  4. After you will save the newly created user, you can check it in section Users management->Users.

  5. In case you would like to change IP address of the SIP Proxy, then you have to change IP address of gateway itself. Go to the section Network->Main configuration and click on the pen icon to edit the network settings. Make desired changes and then click on the disk icon to save the changes.

    2. Register 2N® Helios IP Mobile to SIP Proxy

2N® Helios IP Mobile application can be registered to any SIP proxy as a regular SIP client.

First you need to run the 2N® Helios IP Mobile application by clicking on its icon.

Now proceed please following configuration steps:

    1. Open the "Settings" menu of 2N® Helios IP Mobile application.
    2. Enable the SIP proxy client by clicking on the "SIP Proxy ON" button:
    3. Then proceed to the "SIP proxy settings" menu in order to set the account details.
Enter please all necessary details such as the Username, password, SIP proxy address etc. you get from an administrator of the SIP proxy/PBX.
    4. Once you configure the SIP proxy connection and save the settings by clicking on the confirmation button , you will see the proxy status in the "Devices" row.
Connected - successfully connected to the proxy, ready to place and receive calls
Connecting - trying to connect to the proxy, wait for a while please
Disconnected - disconnected from the proxy, check the configuration again please

    5. Outoging calls within the SIP proxy can be now easily placed directly using the "Dial Pad" by entering the phone number to be dialled.

    6. Alternatively you can also manually add some proxy devices (=phone numbers of eg. 2N® Helios IP intercom, IP phone etc.) to have them ready in the "Devices" menu.

If you would like to call the 2N® Helios IP intercom over proxy, in the device configuration you can also adjust the DTMF code for door opening.
Once you configure the desired proxy device and save the settings by clicking on the confirmation button , you will see it in the "Devices" menu.
